Obituary of Edward J. Ramik Jr.
Edward J. Ramik, Jr. age 69, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Robin (Chause) Ramik. Born in Bridgeport on October 15, 1954, he was a son of the late Edward J. Ramik Sr. and Carol (Hurliman) Ramik and was a longtime resident of Stratford.
Mr. Ramik was a lifelong learner and found great value in a catholic education. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Trumbull and Villanova University where he received his bachelor’s degree as well as both New York University and University of CT to obtain his first and second masters degrees in computer engineering. He retired from MetLife Insurance Co. after a long and dedicated career as a computer engineer. Ed was an avid New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to The Grateful Dead. In his free time, he could be found tinkering with his computer, riding his Harley or his John Deere tractor, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He adored them and cheered on Madison and Little Eddie at many of their activities or sporting events and when he couldn’t be there, he wanted to hear all about what he missed. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, brother and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his beloved wife Robin, survivors include his two loving daughters, Catherine Herman and her husband Scott and Jennifer Ramik and her fiancé Andrew White, a brother, Charles Ramik and a sister, Joanne Ramik Cleveland and her husband Robert and two cherished grandchildren, Madison and Edward “Little Eddie”. He was predeceased by a brother, John Ramik.
All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
