Margaret Coseglia

Obituary of Margaret R. Coseglia

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend, Margaret Rosina Coseglia 86, of Trumbull, CT passed away, surrounded by her family, on May 3, 2023. Margaret was born on Staten Island to Elizabeth and William Neafsey.

Margaret graduated from P.S. 12, Curtis H.S. and the Baker Business School. Margaret met her husband, Fred, of 65 years while working at Moran Towing Corporation in Manhattan.

At an early age, Margaret spent summers visiting her Tante Mary in the Catskill Mountains. This led to a lifelong love for mountains and lakes and the countryside. Family vacations were spent in Maine and Margaret and Fred spent many of their retirement years lakeside in Maine. Here they enjoyed hosting their family and friends and where Margaret was happiest. Margaret was an excellent cook and baker; skills she learned from her mother and passed onto her children. Family and friends always enjoyed scrumptious home-made meals and desserts, be it for an evening dinner or holiday.

Margaret had many friends in the Fairfield and Trumbull, CT area. They shared wonderful times together, enjoyed one another's company, and celebrated all types of occasions. The care and love they provided to Margaret was very comforting to her.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Fred; her daughter Dr. Diana Coseglia - Danna (Anthony); son Fred Coseglia, Jr. (Judy); son Michael Coseglia (Lisa); grandchildren Elizabeth Danna, Sawyer Coseglia, Sarah Danna, Chloe Coseglia, and Dr. Natalie Danna (Jaclyn), and great grandchildren Leo, Benjamin, and Eve. Margaret is also survived by her loving sisters Patricia Kaste and Mary Buttner and her sister-in-law, Rose Sanicola. Margaret also cherished the enjoyable times shared with her niece Lisa Bardusch (Bill), nephew Steven Sanicola (Diane), late nephew Dr. Frank Coseglia (Megan), and their families.

Margaret was a proud member of St. Vincent's Medical Center Breast Cancer Support Group and Sisters in Faith at Our Lady Assumption Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield, with the Reverend Bishop Edmund Whalen celebrating.
