Obituary of Marie E. Kozlowski

Marie E. (Steeves) Kozlowski, age 93, of Monroe passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the Hearth at Gardenside in Branford. She was the beloved wife of the late John D. Kozlowski. Born in Bridgeport on September 24, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Lester and Mildred (Mannion) Steeves. Marie Kozlowski had worked as the Assistant Director of Research and Development for Subway World Headquarters for over 26 years before her retirement. Prior to that she had been employed by DM Reads as a buyer. Marie always stayed active and kept busy, in fact her hobbies consisted of work and her family. She loved sailing, was an avid reader, bingo player, enjoyed playing cards, traveling and partying. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her loving family. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Linda Gumkowski and her husband Tom of Madison, Deborah Kozlowski and her husband David Lindbo of Pittsboro, NC and John Kozlowski and his wife Melani of Huntington, her cherished grandchildren, Krystyn Barnick and her husband Dan, Scott Gumkowski and his wife Anna, Mark Gumkowski, Joshua Kozlowski, Duncan Lindbo and his wife Danielle and Henry Lindbo, her adored great grandchildren, Madyson, Georgia and Daniel Barnick, Jr, and Ryan and Emily Gumkowski, her sister, Jean Astrab of Shelton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
