Oh My...Such a wonderful guy and a great friend! I knew Dick for well over 40 years and we shared many interesting stories about not only his time in the service but also his many adventures seeking out antiques and militaria. Then, the next adventure would be sneaking it by Greta. Dick always liked things that looked used and worn and I came up with a phrase which we then used very often. We said items were in "Ackerman Condition."
I feel very blessed to call him my friend and very grateful that I was able to speak with him one last time after Alison bought one of my books for him. He was certainly from "The Greatest Generation!"
