Obituary of Kevin K. O'Neall

Kevin K. O’Neall, age 67, of Monroe passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Gatto) O’Neall. Born in Waterbury on September 13, 1954 he was the son of the late Frederick Alan and Mary Jane (Detrich) O’Neall. Kevin was proud to attend the University of Florida and later realize his dream of owning his own company, where he showcased his many talents. He was the owner and operator of O’Neall Construction in Monroe for many years before his retirement when his illness hindered his ability to work in that capacity. Along with a very strong work ethic, he loved and took great enjoyment in his occupation. Many will fondly remember Kevin’s sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter, smiles and fun to every situation. In addition to being an avid guitar player, he greatly enjoyed all kinds of music, especially classic rock, and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed sharing both these passions with his family. Kevin’s faith was important to him and evident as a longtime and dedicated parishioner of St. Jude Church where he built many lasting friendships by spending countless hours volunteering for the festival, helping at the school and also coaching basketball and softball for a time. His greatest enjoyment, however, was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family, especially his daughters, whom he adored. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Carolyn of 37 years, other survivors include his loving daughters, Katharine O’Neall and Kelley O’Neall, his sisters and brother, Ellen O’Neall-Waite, Nancy Gott and her husband Robert, Hugh O’Neall and his wife Beth and Elizabeth Hennessey and her husband William, as well as several nieces and nephews.
