I've found some O'Neall family pictures through the years. You'll see that Kevin almost always has a mischievous look about him. That's my brother.

It has been two weeks, and I can finally talk about my oldest brother.
Kevin was the first of my siblings to call me "Liz" with complete ease. It was kind of a big deal at the time, since I had always been "Elizabeth," but he respected that I took on the challenge of claiming my rightful name. From that point on, I was always Liz to him and I am forever grateful for that.
Kevin was the one who instilled in me the sacrosanct rule of not being a tattle-teller on your siblings. Sure, there was that brute force aspect of the bigger middle kid being annoyed by the spoiled baby sister, but that's just family dynamics. He is a big part of how I became the tough, unspoiled, loyal, badass, no-nonsense person that I am, and I am forever grateful for that.
Kevin had such an acerbic wit- sometimes the most outlandish things would come out of his mouth. And the moment anyone dared to question his proclamation, he would say- completely deadpan- "Look it up." Then would come the somewhat devilish, and at the same time sheepish, smile. It was hysterical, and in my mind, it will always be his signature statement.
We had some major differences- mostly political- and we learned to respect each other's point of view, and walked that tightrope of subjects to avoid. But all of our differences seemed to condense to such a small portion of our essential likeness. Over time, it became clear to me that we had so much more in common than not. And we loved each other unconditionally.
I miss him terribly. Rest in peace, Bro.

Liz, I'm just now seeing this and I'm deeply saddened by the loss of your brother. I knew him in highschool and the beginning of college and I can say, that devilish-sheepish smile is one that I'm familiar with. Our parents were the best of friends during those years and i remember them fondly. Kevin was kind, generous, talented, smart and very clever. My condolences to the entire family. Anita

Kevin, brother of mine, I will miss you greatly. Bob will miss you greatly. He remembers how fondly you welcomed him into the O'Neall family when we were married and had traveled cross-county in our ancient VW bus. You greeted him with open arms and made him a brother. We played music together. You always made sure there were instruments available when we came east for family gatherings. We could talk politics and not kill each other. We agreed to disagree... always from a loving perspective. You and Bob were able to compare cancer horror stories and laugh. That's what I'll miss the most....your laughter. Yours was a life well lived.
