I have known Vinny and his family for close to 60 years. He was a great guy and a close friend. We got to know each other pretty well in the off-campus world of Providence College. And when my wife and I came to live in Trumbull after a number of years of travel, we renewed our friendship with Vincenzo. Our kids became friends with Michael, Mark & Mellissa and we would also gather at the DiLauro house for good times. My wife Birgitte also worked with Fran in real estate for a period of time.
Vin had a fantastic mind and an amazing store of knowledge (both useful and useless). Plus, he was an extremely kind-hearted soul who valued his family and friends. As we passed our prime and began to pick up speed toward the finish line, a number of us used to get together for monthly lunches. Vinny named our group the "ROMEOS" (Retired Old Men Eating Out). We still kept in touch over the last few years even though he left the Trumbull area and found a wonderful life with Francie and her family.
We miss you....

To the family of Vinny,
We were both surprised and sadden by the sudden death of Vinny and offer our sincere sympathy and prayers to all his family and extended family at this sad time.
Vin and I were classmates at PC and graduated together in 1965. Over the years we lost contact with each other only having re-united recently with his move to Pine Orchard/Branford. Vin was always a people person who we all loved and respected.
In passing, while he will be missed, he will always LIVE in your memories and therefore will be with and a part of you all forever..
Be thankful to have been blessed with his presence and LOVE and take heart in the many fond memories that you all enjoyed together..
Again, our sincerest sympathy and prayers to Vin's family and extended family!!!

So sorry to learn of Vinnys passing. Vinny and I were off campus roommates at P. C. He was a terrific roommate in all respects, but he was renowned for Wednesday night Italian Dinner Night. Vin claimed each of his terrific dinners were of his own making, we suspected his mom's recipes were used. One notable memory was Vinny presented our 3 month old daughter with her very first Christmas dress in 1964; we were so touched. A few months ago, we learned that Vinny purchased a home in Bonita Springs only 2 miles north of us. We were both so excited that we would be neighbors. We had plans to watch Friar basketball, argue about the Red Sox and Yankees and more importantly to renew our friendship which started in 1961.
To Vinny's, family both his children and extended family, we hope you keep the memories of a true friend to so many.
Bless you all.

Our most heartfelt condolences to Vinnys's family
Vinchenzo
Disey and I will cherish and miss all of the good times we shared with you and Francie over the past 10 or so years
We came to know you as a kind hearted and gentle spirited man who loved his family and friends, who totally enjoyed a good meal, was eager to engage in spirited conversation, who had an extremely sharp mind, had a memory like an elephant and who could spontaneously break out into song when one of your favorite Motown oldies played.
We shared so many good times with you and Francie in CT, in Maine and most recently in Florida and we all were looking forward to many more.
You were a great guy Vinchenzo
It was such a pleasure to get to know you we will miss you very very much
