Obituary of Lawrence J. LaConte Sr.
Lawrence J. LaConte Sr., age 82, of Trumbull, beloved husband of the late Barbara (Bobbie) Szilagyi LaConte, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Born in Bridgeport on March 7, 1939, he was the son of the late Angelo and Clara LaRocco LaConte.
Larry was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School Class of 1957 and went on to attend the University of Bridgeport. He began his working career as an iron worker and then along with his wife they operated Conty's at Seaside Park for many years. Larry was also a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker.
Very active in his community, he served in the Army Reserves, was a member of the Town of Trumbull Board of Planning and Zoning, Trumbull Rotary Club, American Legion Post #177, Elks USA and was the proud 2019 Grand Marshall of the Bridgeport Columbus Day Parade.
But above all things, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. Larry will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his four loving children, Lisa LaConte Fronsaglia and her companion Joseph Naclerio of West Haven, Lori LaConte of Trumbull, Leann LaConte Rua and her husband Richard of Milford and Lawrence J. LaConte Jr. and his wife Megan of Trumbull, his loving companion Elaine Pieger of Bridgeport, 11 cherished grandchildren, Angelo Alexander, Gabriela Diaz, Alexis Michael Diaz, Natalia and Alexa Fronsaglia, Mia, Luca and Michael LaConte, Angelina Harper, Alison Phelan, and Stephanie Rua, 4 cherished great-grandchildren Ryan, Oliver, Luke and Tyler, sisters-in-law, Elvira McLachlan and Katherine Fletcher, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Face masks are required, and social distancing will be expected. A walk-through visitation will take place on Monday from 4 – 7 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Visitors are asked to wear masks and social distance as they walk through, pay their respects, and exit without lingering to ensure all guests can come through the building.
