Obituary of Raymond L. Ambrose

Raymond L. Ambrose, age 85, of Micco, FL and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Barbara Coughlin Ambrose, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018 with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on July 31, 1933, he was a son of the late Julio and Marina Ceccorulli Ambrose. He was raised in Bridgeport, attended Central High School and was formerly employed by the City of Bridgeport Board of Education as a mason. Ray was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired Army Reservist. He was a past president of the Marchegian Club in Bridgeport and was an avid Yankee fan. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

 

He was predeceased by a son, Raymond J. Ambrose, great grandson Ray-Ray Ambrose and his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mickie Ambrose.

 

In addition to his beloved wife of 63 years, Barbara, survivors include five loving children, Cheryl Valentino and her husband Vincent of Oxford, Michael Ambrose of Micco, FL, Mark Ambrose and his wife Lisa of Trumbull, Maria Ambrose and her companion Ronald Taylor of Vero Beach, FL and Barbara Ann Lambo and her husband David of Easton, eight cherished grandchildren, William, Marissa, Vanessa, Alexa, Mark Jr., Matthew Ray, John and Ava; three great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Relatives and friends can greet the family on Monday morning 9 – 11a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cardinal Shehan Center, 1494 Main St., Bridgeport, CT, 06604.
