Obituary of Dolores G. Gori
Dolores Genevieve Boscaini Gori, age 83, of Bridgeport, passed to the arms of our Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2017. A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, she was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Gaetano Boscaini. She graduated from Bassick High School in 1952 and then worked for B. M. Towers Co. of Bridgeport before her marriage to Secondo Gori in 1958.
She enjoyed crafts and traveling, never passing up any chance to "go away" with family or friends. Dolores' passion was bowling, she was a member and served as the secretary of Nutmeg Bowl Tassels League and served on the Board of the Westport Women's Bowling Association as Vice President for many years. She was also a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 260.
Dolores' main passion was her family and friends. She always put others before herself. She was an honest and loving person that would willingly give of herself to others. She had a strong faith in God and would always say, "put your faith in Him, it is in His hands."
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Secondo Gori, three children, Joseph Gori and his wife Alice R. Leber of Oxford, Linda Mennillo and her husband Nicholas of Bridgeport and John Gori and his wife Rose of Milford, two sisters, Elaine Edgerton of Monroe and Jeanette Coburn of PA, six grandchildren, Sarah Gori, Ariel Baker, Robin Bowles, Nicole Mennillo, Kristen Mennillo and Andrea Messenger, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, a brother, Robert Boscaini, predeceased her.
Friends are invited to meet directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial.
