Obituary of Richard M. Burlant

Richard M. Burlant, age 78, beloved husband of Joan Silvia of Trumbull, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on April 29, 1938, he was a son of the late Charles and Rose Scinto Burlant and was a longtime resident of Trumbull. Before his retirement Richard was a music teacher with the City of Bridgeport and the Jazz Band director at the University of Bridgeport. He was a member of the Jazz Giants and director of the Fairfield Counts and was also an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting. He was an avid golfer and loved working on cars and restoring classic sports cars with his son Chris and best friend John Fox. In addition to his wife Jackie of 55 years, he leaves a son, Christopher Burlant, a sister, Beverlee Abriola, a granddaughter, Heather Burlant and his loving dog, Max as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will take place that evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
