My heartfelt condolences to Familia Cruz, a wonderful family. The heartache is no less painful at 100. My memories of Don Joselin go back to the 60s when he and Dña Laura would greet me in their kitchen as a young teenager and we would talk and talk. Don Joselin seemed to me the one who quietly calmed everyone in that kitchen with his peaceful calming wisdom. Not a man of many words, but when he spoke, those one liners were priceless. I remember him as a kind man who put his family first. I can picture him in his garden in Norwalk happy in his element and his passion for his music and his talent on his guitar. Yes he lived a good life. You all are blessed to have him in your lives so long and that he was able to see his great grandchildren and great great granddaughter. He will have many stories for Dña Laura. Love you guys; prayers for your peace during these days. Wanda Haley

May you rest in peace beloved uncle Joselin Cruz.... I love you with the strength of my heart.....My heart is broken....in pieces....I am an imperfect human being..but I know, we will meet again in the resurrection.....and then,,it will be forever and ever......Amen Uncle Joselin, I can hear your voice: saying these words to my heart.. "I have not said Good Bye....... I have just gone ahead I will see all of you, again" I have gone in peace.. knowing how much I love thee... while I am gone...until we meet again feel me in the warm breeze, see me in the butterflies in the garden, feel my touch in the rain that falls suddenly over you. remember me in each sunny day..... know that Iam a star in the sky. the moon in a bright night... the sun that makes you feel warm.. because I have just gone ahead... so, I just will be, in your heart until we meet again".... June 24, 2016 marked the end of an era for the Cruz Family. We have lost the eldest member of our family...our Don...Papá. Although we know we will hear many say that "he lived a good long life," which he did BTW at 100 yrs old, it is still a difficult reality to accept that he will no longer be physically present at our gatherings to deliver his famous one liners and his loving calm presence. Our hearts are so heavy in that regard, but elated at the same time to know that his spirit is free to fly and be with Mamá and his predecessors. He will finally get to dance that merengue, as his 100 yo earthly shell has been cast aside. He...is...FREE! Free from pain and free from suffering. For us it is a time to CELEBRATE HIS LIFE and all that he imparted unto us.
