Obituary of Pasqualina Mezzanotte

Trumbull Resident Pasqualina Lena Mezzanotte, age 99, of Trumbull, a retired employee of Seamless Rubber Co., died on Friday, September 19, 2008 in St. Vincent Medical Center . Born in New Haven on May 21, 1909, she was the second of five children of the late Giovanni and Guiseppina DiVita Mezzanotte. She graduated at the age of 14 from Truman Street School in New Haven and was forced to go to work at Whitney Blake and Acme Wire Companies to help support the family. She was a parishioner of St. Anthonys Church in New Haven, where she was a member of the choir and Children of Mary Sadality for a number of years and a Sunday school teacher for 20 years. Miss Mezzanotte moved to Trumbull in 1965 and became a parishioner of St. Theresa Church where she was the treasurer, attendance monitor and charter member of the St. Theresa Senior Citizens Club. She was president, vice president and treasurer of the Legion of Mary, a member of the St. Rose Monday Bible Class and taught CCD Classes. She was a coordinator of the homebound and a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a charter member for the War Memorial in Washington, DC. She enjoyed volunteering in Bridgeport and St. Vincents Hospitals, many rest homes and private homes. She loved crocheting and doing needlepoint. Pasqualina was pre-deceased by two brothers, Dan and Frank Mezzanotte and a sister, Theresa Mezzanotte. Survivors include a brother George Mezzanotte of Trumbull, nieces and nephews, Josephine Dellacamera, Louise Chambers, Maryanne James, John Mezzanotte, Robert Mezzanotte, Michael Mezzanotte, Thomas Mezzanotte, Richard Mezzanotte as well as many great nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday September 24, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of service.
