Obituary of Constantine Marko

Constantine (Coach) Marko, age 82, of Milford, a self-employed grocer and auto salesman, died on Monday, July 30, 2007 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Korce, Albania via Italy, he was a son of the late Dimitri and Vera Marko.

He came to the United States in 1937 and was proud to be a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in both the Pacific and European Theatres. He was a member of the V. F. W. Lodge #9460 in Stratford and a 50 year member of the Ashlar Lodge A. F. & A. M. in Wilton. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed traveling, dancing and was always the life of the party. Coach had the ability to make everyone laugh and was truly a friend to everyone he met.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Elaine Dickerson Marko.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rachael Lucas Marko, three children, James Marko and his partner Jacob Yang of Boston, MA, Margie Makara and her partner Bill Swain of Ansonia and Mark Marko and his wife, Karen of Bridgeport, a brother, Vincent Marko and his wife, Elsie, of Bridgeport, his extended family, Michael Lucas and Diana Sherman of Milford and Stephen Lucas and his wife Martha of Southbury, nine grandchildren, Jaimie McCarvill and her husband Mike, Christopher Lord and his wife Erin, Josh Marko and his wife Tracie, Erik Marko and his wife Jennifer, Ashley, Michael, Courtney, Sydney and Drew Lucas, six great grandchildren, India, Michael, Riley, Alaina, Finley and Ryan and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in St. George Albanian Orthodox Church, 5490 Main St. Trumbull. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
