Obituary of Anna Rose Mari

Anna Rose Giordano Mari, of Stratford, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2009 surrounded by her family in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 44 years, Joseph M. Mari. Born in Bridgeport on September 6, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine Ruggiero Giordano.

She graduated from Central High School in 1957 and was married on September 12, 1959. An extremely loving and devoted mother, Anna was a caring and energetic person who was the cornerstone of her family. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with family and friends. She had a strong connection to her Italian heritage and was able to fulfill her dreams of travel to Italy. She began her career of Human Resources at 3030 Park, Fairfield and continued at Fairfield University where she retired in 2005. She then volunteered at St. Vincents Hospital.

Anna is survived by her three loving daughters, Carolyn Mannino and her husband Mark of Stratford, JoAnn Supan and her husband James of Monroe and Lisa Mari of New Hampshire. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah Mannino and Allyson and Kevin Supan, her brothers Carmine Giordano of San Francisco, Robert Giordano and his wife MaryJo of Seymour, her sister, Rosemary DeLisle and her husband Tom of Milford, her companion Dominic Coveluzzi of Bridgeport and sister-in-law Madeline Skrable of New Jersey. She also leaves several nephews, aunts, cousins and many life long friends.

The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Coveluzzi family for their tremendous love, support and friendship. Anna brought joy to the lives of so many people and she will always be in the hearts of her family and friends.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial.
