Obituary of Michele Marella

Mr. Michele (Michael) Marella, age 84, of Bridgeport, a retired laborer for Local 665 with over 20 years of service, died on Monday, August 27, 2007 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Faeto, Province of Foggia, Italy, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Luisa Marella, and was a WW II Italian Army Veteran.

Mr. Marella enjoyed gardening, Italian soccer games and making home made wine, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Maria Pavia Marella, two sons, Joseph Marella of Newburyport, MA and Leonard Marella and his wife Julie of Monroe, a daughter, Luisa Berlin and her husband David of Randolph, NJ, a sister, Amalia Melfi of Italy, his six cherised grandchildren, Bryan, Kelsey, Christopher, Jamie, Stephen and Michael, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Friends can meet directly at 11 AM on Thursday, August 30, 2007 in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St. Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 8 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road Trumbull.
