Obituary of Leonard P. Marcello

Leonard P. Marcello Sr., age 64, of Bridgeport, died suddenly on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at his residence. Born on May 31, 1941 he was a son of Genevieve Lucy Marcello of Bridgeport and the late Leonard A. Marcello.

A lifelong Bridgeport resident, Mr. Marcello was a graduate of the Warren Harding H.S. Class of 1959 where he excelled in baseball. He was an employee of the Home Depot and formerly worked at Emergi-Lite as Corporate Director of Purchasing. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends and will be sadly missed. Mr. Marcello was an avid Yankees and Giants fan and took great pride in cooking for his family.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his devoted wife of 43 years, Gail Olbrys Marcello, two loving children, a son, Leonard P. Marcello Jr. and his wife Giovanna of West Haven, a daughter, Lisa Finch and her husband Ted of Shelton, a brother, Joseph D. Marcello and his wife Ellen of Monroe, mother in law, Nell Olbrys of Bridgeport, brothers in law, Walt Olbrys of Maine, Lewis Olbrys and his wife Martha of Trumbull, five cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Ariana, Adam, Matthew and Brendan, and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated by his nephew Rev. Joseph A. Marcello. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
