Obituary of Genevieve Marcello

Genevieve Mary Marcello, age 94, beloved wife of the late Leonard A. Marcello, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Bridgeport on April 16, 1916, and was a daughter of the late Philip and Mary Tedesco Lucy. Survivors include her son, Joseph D. Marcello and his wife Ellen of Monroe, a daughter-in-law, Gail O. Marcello of Huntington, two sisters, Evelyn DiLalla of Bridgeport, and Mildred Bonazzo of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Leonard Marcello Jr. and his wife Giovanna of West Haven, Lisa Marcello Finch and her husband Ted of Shelton, Father Joseph A. Marcello of Trumbull, and Lisa Marcello Palmieri and her husband James of Monroe, six cherished great grandchildren, Ryan, Ariana, Adam, Matthew, Brendan and Madisen, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Leonard Marcello Sr., a brother, Joseph Lucy and a sister, Elizabeth Ciccone. The Marcello family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Sisters, the pastoral care department, and the caregivers at St. Josephs Manor, where Mrs. Marcello resided for the past two and a half years, as well as the nurses and support staff of Richardson 9 at Bridgeport Hospital for their attention and care during the past month. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Shelton Road, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by her grandson, Father Marcello, and in the presence of the Most Reverend William E. Lori, Bishop of Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Parish for a Chalice which will be dedicated in her memory.
