Obituary of Michael L. Mainiero

Former Owner and Operator of Yale Hardware Michael L. Pop Mainiero, age 94, of Bridgeport, the former owner and operator of Yale Hardware for 35 years, died on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on February 2, 1916, he was a son of the late Leonard Sr. and Josephine Scinto Mainiero. He was pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth Principi Mainiero and a son-in-law Steven Balgach. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and loved a good cigar and a scotch. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Lauro and her husband Gerardo of Bridgeport and Nancy Balgach of Shelton, a brother Leonard J. Mainiero Jr. and his wife Loretta of Florida and a sister Josephine Mainiero Achille and her husband Sante of LAquila, Italy, four grandchildren, Michael Lauro and his wife Ann of Bridgeport, Amy Kelehan and her husband Chuck of Derby, Lauren Sandor and her husband Timothy of Cheshire and Martin Balgach and his wife Lisa of Colorado, three great grandchildren, Sarah and Richard Deyo and Michael Lauro Jr., his devoted companion of many years Rose Chikla of New Haven and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
