Obituary of Vincent Macri

U. S. Veteran of Korean War Vincent Macri, age 75, of Trumbull, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at St. Vincent Medical Center after a lengthy illness with his wife at his side. Born on November 26, 1931 in Reggio, Province of Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Dominic and Antonia Fiorini Macri and came to the United States in 1947. After receiving his Aeronautical and Engineering license, he began his career at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford and was employed for over 40 years. He was a crew chief and a foreman in the experimental hangar. He was a hard worker in his career and at home. Vincent loved to show pictures and tell stories of his many trips to other countries for Sikorsky. He loved playing with his grandchildren, gardening, family gatherings, reading, watching old westerns and war movies and believed in family unity. He served as a sergeant in the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Jean Convertito Macri, a son, Vincent Macri, a daughter, Juliann Porter and her husband, John, all of Trumbull, four grandchildren, Vanessa Morton and her husband, John, Vincent T. Macri and James and Joseph Porter as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
