Obituary of James A. Lucey

Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. LUCEY - James A. Poppa Lucey, age 88, of Shelton, beloved husband of Dolores Sturchio Lucey, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Born in Bridgeport on December 12, 1921, he was the son of the late James Patrick and Edna Mae (Dallwig) Lucey. Mr. Lucey was a proud veteran serving in the U. S. Army during World War II from 1942-1946. He was a retired employee of The Bullard Company where he worked in the finance department. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Jim was a devoted family man. His life was his family and his family was his life. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Dolores, survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Lucey, M.D. and her husband James Schoenadel of South Glastonbury and Donna Nayden of Weston, five grandchildren, Lauren Schoenadel and Billy, Kara, Emma and Krista Nayden, sister-in-law and brother- in-law, Florence and Edward Pavlick, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Dorothea Otto Kinsman and Emmy Lou Strouse, as well as a son-in-law, William Nayden and a nephew, Ronald Pavlick. The family would like to thank the many doctors who provided exceptional care over the years to Jim, especially Dominic Casablanca, M.D. and Richard Taikowski, M.D. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Wilton.
