Obituary of Arthur J. Lown

Arthur J. Lown, age 82, of Shelton, a retired draftsman and designer for Harvey Hubbell Inc., died on Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Fairfield on August 6, 1925, he was a son of the late Walter Lown and Edith Adams Lown. Mr. Lown was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II where he received the European Theater Ribbon, a Bronze Star, the American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon. A Shelton resident for 10 years, Mr. Lown enjoyed landscaping and gardening and was formerly a Cub Master at St. Charles Church. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Martha Ferrigno Lown, a son James Lown and his wife Victoria of Shelton and a daughter JoAnne Massie and her husband Donald of Naugatuck, two brothers-in-law, Anthony Ferrigno of Trumbull and Frank Ferrigno and his wife Maria of Shelton, seven grandchildren, Donald Massie Jr., Angela Amaral and her husband Jeffrey, Linda Massie, Michael Massie and his wife Melanie, Chris, Michelle and Michael Lown, seven great grandchildren, Ashley, Katherine, Emily, Sarah, Alex, Samantha and Nicholas as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Charles Lown, Edward Finnerty and Robert Finnerty. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
