Obituary of Joseph Lombardo

Joseph Lombardo Sr., age 93, of Del Ray Beach, Florida, husband of the late Elvera Manna Lombardo, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in St. Joseph Manor, Trumbull. Born in New York, New York on May 14, 1914, he was son of the late Anthony and Agata Latargia Lombardo. Mr. Lombardo was a retired employee at Avco Lycoming and previously worked for Singer Sewing Machine. An avid bowler, he set a new Greater Bridgeport-Norwalk Bowling Association record bowling at the Westport Lanes in 1965 when he had a three game score of 761. He also took great enjoyment in playing golf and pool. He enjoyed summering in Lordship and spending relaxing winters in Florida for over 30 years. In addition to Elvera, his wife of 50 years, he was pre-deceased by his first wife, Gladys Wildman Lombardo of Danbury and two brothers, John and Frank Lombardo. Survivors include two sons, Richard Lombardo and his wife, Jean of North Branford and Joseph Lombardo, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen of Stratford, two brothers, Frank and Joseph Scaduto, both of Bridgeport, three sisters, Adeline Guzzi of Bridgeport, Nancy Intagliatto of Trumbull and Josephine Machalowski of Monroe, four grandchildren, Richard, Jr., Lindsey, Jenna and Michael Lombardo and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
