Obituary of John Behn

May 18, 2006 Trumbull Resident BEHN- John (Jack) Behn, of Trumbull, a retired purchasing agent for Sturm Ruger Co, died on Thursday, May 18, 2006 in St. Josephs Manor. Born in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Howard John and Nell Kemp Behn. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a Trumbull resident over 52 years. Since 1948, Mr. Behn was a member of Fairfield Rotary Club, a founder and past president of the Eastern Packard Club, he served 35 years on the Trumbull Park Commission, was a member of the Classic Car Club of America and was Chairman of the 1971 Barnum Festival Antique Car Show. Jack was an author, an avid collector of firearms, antique cars, and railroad watches and memorabilia . Also, held longtime memberships in the NRA, Masonic Order and Pyramid Shriners. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Louise Kell Behn, three daughters, Karen Nemeth of Meshoppen, PA, Laura DeBoer and her husband, Arlin of Sharon and Marjorie Jennings and her husband, Kevin of Stratford, a sister, Laura Callander of Florida, six grandchildren, Penny Porteous, Jayson Porteous, Lauranel Nemeth, Megan Jennings, Jenny DeBoer and Jesse DeBoer and two great grandchildren, Amelia and Hunter, and a nephew, Thomas Callander. Funeral Information Friends may call on Monday, May 22, 2006 from 4-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
