Obituary of Angela Lombardi

Retired R.N. Angela A. Lombardi, retired R.N., of Stratford, died on Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Carolton Chronic Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport, she was the beloved daughter of the late Angelo and Caroline Salina Lombardi. She was a graduate of Harding High School and St. Vincent College of Nursing. She attended New York University and the Sloan Kettering Institute in New York on a scholarship she received. Ms. Lombardi was a nursing supervisor and staff coordinator at St. Vincent Medical Center for 20 years. She later accepted the position of Director of Nursing at Carolton Chronic Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield which she enjoyed immensely. Ms. Lombardi was an active member and volunteer for the American Cancer Society for many years. Angela was active with the Catholic Nurses Association, a member of the Connecticut Nurses Association and a past treasurer and member of St. Vincents Alumnae Association. She was a parishioner of St. Mark Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was very devoted to her family, including being present at the births of all her 10 nieces and nephews. She was always there to care for them. Angela was a very caring person and loved her profession. Survivors include two brothers, Victor Lombardi and his wife, Jane and Patrick Lombardi, and a sister, Dorothy Nolting, all of Stratford, ten devoted nieces and nephews, Robert Nolting and his wife Karen of Trumbull, Attorney Caroline Nolting Morrissey and her husband Terry of Stratford, Ronald Nolting and his wife Terry of Stratford Michael Nolting and his wife Anne of Wesley Chapel, Fl and Richard Nolting and his wife Lynn of Wesley Chapel, FL, CarolinePiselli RN, and her husband Mario of Branford, Victor Lombardi and his wife Andrea of Juptier, FL, Michael Lombardi and his wife Sally of Phoenix, AZ, Angela Lombardi Young and her husband John of Stratford and Patrick Lombardi of New Haven. She also leaves 27 grand nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved, Andrew, Eric and Caroline Morrissey, Stephanie, Matthew and Nicholas Nolting, Alyssa, Michael and Mitchell Notling, Richard, Douglas , Jack, Scott and Lani Marie Nolting, Matthew, Christina and Jennifer Piselli, Candace and Julianne Lombardi, Christopher, Patrick, Brianna, and Jillian Lombardi , Cody, Brittany, Hailey and AshleyYoung. Ms. Lomdardi was pre-deceased by sisters, Rose and Victoria, brother Michael and infant brother Patrick. Funeral Information Friends can meet directly at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford, on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 for a Mass of Christian Burial. Private interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
