Obituary of Vincent Livia

Mason with the E & F Construction Company for many years. Vincent (Vincenzo) Livia, age 66, of Wallingford, entered eternal rest on Saturday morning September 27, 2008. He was predeceased by his loving wife and the mother of his daughters; Katherine Mary Sapak Livia and his parents Pietro and Georgia Capello Livia. Born in Modica Sicily, Italy he arrived in the United States on April 7th 1956 on the ship the Christopher Columbo. Vincent leaves behind his wife, Francisa Ramirez Livia of Wallingford who lovingly cared for him and stayed by his side until his last breath, three daughters; Lisa and Bill Tarala of Norwalk, Jennifer White of Milford and Gina Livia of Wallingford, five grandchildren Mark White, Nikki, Billy, Jacob, and Emma Katherine Tarala, three stepsons; Clifford, Roland and Milton; two sisters, Matilda Guccione and her husband Vincenzo of Stratford, Marie Staltaro and her husband Patsy of Stratford; a brother, Victor Livia and his wife Tanya of Miami, FL and several nieces and nephews. Vincent graduated from Bullard Havens and completed his masons apprenticeship with E & F Construction in the early 1960s. He proudly worked with the E & F Company for many years often as a foreman for many of their jobs until the 1990s when the company closed. He is a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers local #1. One of his proudest accomplishments was the restoration of the dorm buildings at Yale University. He continued to work for several other construction companies until his retirement, when he purchased from within his family, Vincent interior decorators of Southport. He was a resident of Easton for 37 years and of Wallingford for 4 years. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
