Obituary of Jennifer B. Sirella

Jennifer B. Gellatly Sirella, age 70, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of John (Jack) Sirella. Born in Bridgeport on October 14, 1954, Jennifer was the daughter of the late William and Sandra (Dragone) Gellatly and was a longtime resident of Stratford.

After retiring from Fairfield University, Jennifer spent her days enjoying the beach, long walks, and spending time with her Grandchildren. She was a very proud Grandma and always loved babysitting her Grandchildren and taking them on fun day trips. Jennifer loved being outside and enjoyed bike riding and family gatherings. She participated in the Closer to Free Ride through Smilow Cancer Hospital and completed many 5k runs and walks to support cancer research. Jennifer was a very generous and selfless woman and always put others before herself. She was cherished most by her husband and three daughters.

In addition to her devoted husband John and best friend of 52 years, survivors include three loving daughters, Jessica Waite and her husband Matthew, Julia Carlozzi and her husband John and Jaime Bonetti and her husband Robert, a sister, Deborah Becker and her husband John, a brother, Guy Gellatly, her brother-in-law, Sal Aurelia, and five cherished grandchildren, Bella Carlozzi, Lucas Waite, Tanner Bonetti, Shea Waite and Jackson Carlozzi as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Aurelia.

Jennifer's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Bridgeport Hospital, her doctor of 13 years, Dr Neal Fischbach, the nurses from Compassus Care especially Darlene, the aides from Constellation and her dear friend of many years, Beth, who took special care of Jennifer.

All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private and there will not be any calling hours. Arrangements in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
