Obituary of Enzo Di Curzio

Enzo Di Curzio, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Susan DiCocco Di Curzio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2025. Born on April 10, 1940 in Tocco da Casauria, Province of Pescara, Italy, he was a son of the late Luigi and Adelina Umberti Di Curzio. Before immigrating to the United States aboard the Olympia in 1961, his talent in masonry led him to work on various projects across different towns in Italy, including Lake Como.

Upon arriving in the U.S., he proudly joined the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1, where he served as a dedicated member for many years and contributed to numerous prominent construction projects throughout Fairfield County.

Enzo found joy working in his garden, winemaking, fishing and clamming. He especially cherished Sunday dinners with his family, where he would recount countless stories from his past, over a glass of wine. He was exceptionally skilled and often amazed his family by designing inventive gadgets that made his gardening and household tasks more efficient. His sharp wit and sense of humor will be fondly remembered. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 63 years, Susan, survivors include two loving children, Lou Di Curzio and his wife Liana of Monroe and Jenny Cortina and her husband Robert of Trumbull, a brother, Lino Di Curzio and his wife Lella of Italy, sisters-in laws, Anna Long and Mary DiCocco, four grandchildren, Christopher Cortina, Sabrina and Alissa Di Curzio, Jaclyn Cortina-Frigo and her husband Charles, and many cousins and nephews.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at both Middlebrook and Ludlowe Health Care Centers for the compassionate care they provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
