Obituary of Barbara D. Kopchik
Barbara (Bonnie) Donegan Kopchik, age 72, of Stratford, beloved wife of Kenneth Kopchik, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in New Haven on April 10, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Edward Sr. and Margaret Borst Donegan.
A Registered Nurse, Bonnie earned her Nursing Degree from the University of Bridgeport and was employed by Bridgeport Hospital for 23 years before her retirement. Bonnie was a volunteer in the Social Outreach at St. James Church. She was a former member of the Stratford Junior Women's Club and enjoyed the camaraderie with her friends. She was very active in her daughter's and grandchildren's lives, always there to help with anything.
Her proudest and greatest roles in life were that of wife, mother and grandmother. She loved when the family was together celebrating holidays, vacationing together and creating memories to last forever. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her beloved husband of 42 years, Kenneth, survivors include her loving daughter Kelly Ann Goldstein and her husband Harry; two cherished and adored grandchildren, Freya and Cyrus Goldstein; a brother, Thomas Donegan Jr. and his wife Joannie; sister-in-law, Karla Dagenais and her husband Robert; nieces and nephews, Chelsey (Chuck), Teah, Thomas III (Danielle) and Amy. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her best friend and confidant, Karen Lynch, who was by Bonnie's side throughout her toughest times. She was predeceased by a sister, Deborah Donegan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Relatives and Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
