Obituary of Richard Louis Lombardi

Richard Louis Lombardi, age 84 of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024 with his family at his side. He was born in the Bronx, New York on January 8, 1940 and was the son of Louis and Virginia (Nargi) Lombardi. Richard was a longtime resident of both Mt. Vernon and White Plains, New York before moving to Trumbull in 2015 to be closer to family.

In 1957, Richard began working for the New York Central railroad as an apprentice electrician and, when he retired in 2004, he was the General Chairman of System Council No.7, International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers where he represented electrical workers on various railroad carriers. Richard thoroughly enjoyed representing his fellow union members.

Richard was a wonderful brother, uncle and great uncle and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving sister, Camille Flynn, a niece, Taryn Flynn- Cholakian and a nephew, Richard Flynn, as well as a great niece, Emily Cholakian. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Donald Flynn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 AM in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT.
