Obituary of Moises Alves
Moises Alves, age 93, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Maria Luisa Pimenta Alves, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Born in Beca, Boticas, Portugal on November 19, 1931 he was a son of the late Anibal Ferreira Tulha Alves and Maria Amelia Ferreira Maduro. Moises immigrated to the U.S. in 1969 and settled in Bridgeport.
He was a member of the CT Laborers Local Union 665 and worked for E & F Construction for over 35 years. He was a long-time member of the Vasco da Gama Club, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and watching his favorite team FC Porto play soccer. Moises loved to garden, cultivate his fruit trees, and make homemade wine for all to enjoy.
But above all he was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He treasured time spent with his family and his smile would light up the room when his grandchildren and great grandchildren were by his side. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his three loving children, Maria Amelia Moura and her husband Domingos, Esther Alves Oppedisano and her husband Joseph, and Antonio Alves, his six cherished grandchildren, Dom Moura (Lisa), Ashley Moura Davis (Adam), Maritza DeMarco (Tony), Cav (Erica) Celini and Tasha and Chad Celini, nine adored great grandchildren, Ella, Jonathan, Elijah, Angela, Adam, Vito, Jude, Simon and Lorena, step grandchildren, Frank, Dominick and Joey Oppedisano, a brother, Domingos Ferreira Tulha Alves and a sister, Aida Lage, as well as several nieces and nephews.
