Obituary of Constance H. Aiello
Constance (Connie) Aiello, 78, of Trumbull, a retired elementary educator for the City of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 in Bridgeport Hospital after a valiant struggle with multiple health issues. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert Aiello and Jean Pastore Aiello.
A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a bachelor's and advanced degree in education, Connie taught second and third grades in Garfield school in Bridgeport for 35 years before her retirement in 2004. Connie was passionate about working in education and loved watching her students learn and grow under her tutelage. She delighted in organizing the children's choir and many seasonal plays. She was a member of the Bridgeport Education Association and later the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association.
Connie loved to sing and was a member of the local Elderberries singing group and also was a singer in the Bridgeport Barnum Festival Road show. She enjoyed going to Broadway musicals and also never missed watching family members acting in school plays and musicals. She was the first to arrive at family parties and celebrations and she had a hat for every occasion and outfit. She enjoyed online shopping with QVC and Amazon and loved making ornaments for her Christmas tree and as special gifts. She was an extraordinary movie buff, history and trivia expert. Above all, Connie had a strong faith in God, attended weekly mass, was a eucharistic minister, and volunteered her time helping the Lord's Kitchen, which involved monthly shopping and meal prep for the homeless in Stratford. She was a regular participant in the church plays and enjoyed performing for family and friends. She was a faithful, supportive, and kind friend and always had the gift of making others feel special.
Connie is survived by her caregiver and cousin Raymond Altieri (Barbara), cousins Deanna Bradshaw (Art), Fran Carroll (Judy) Trey Altieri, Meredith Walsky (Reid), Leslie Bradshaw (Stephanie), AJ Bradshaw, Amalia, Cameron, and Charlotte Walsky, dear friends Ruth Ann Blanchard, Peter Barcello, Kathy Feller, Joan Lebron, goddaughter Karen Yeomans, her beloved dog Cossette, and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her cousins Molly Carroll, Rita Altieri, and Barbara Robin Muth.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning, November 26th from 9:30 – 10:30 am in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Connie's memory to Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford CT 06614. To leave an online condolence, visit www.abriola.com.
