Obituary of Theresa M. Miklus

Theresa M. (Vernuccio) Miklus, age 83, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on July 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Girolamo and Margaret (Capozzi) Vernuccio. Theresa had worked as an inventory analyst for Philips Medical Systems before her retirement with nearly 20 years of dedicated service. She was an avid sports enthusiast and huge fan and supporter of the New York Yankees. She also enjoyed tuning in to her favorite game shows, where she enjoyed participating with the contestants. In her younger days, she enjoyed knitting and making things that are treasured by her family. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Survivors include her loving and devoted children, Diane Waldron of Cheshire, John Miklus and his wife Kerry of Novi, MI and Jill Hirsch and her husband Craig of Monroe and her cherished grandchildren, Kyle Waldron, Ryan, Skylar and Evan Miklus and Jared and Kaitlyn Hirsch. She was predeceased by her life long partner, Vincent DeLibero and her brother, Donald A. Vernuccio.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
