There are no words to express the sadness.
It could be 5:30am, pm or midnight and with a quick toot of the horn and the girls would say "there goes Mr John Bennett"
With every horn heard you will never be forgotten
Rest in peace my friend

I had the honor to know John for many years while I was with Stamford EMS, stationed at GFD. He always had a smile on his face, and a positive attitude. He enjoyed life as much as his passion helping people in need. This attribute, resonated to everyone around him. EMS and GFD were dispatched to all 911 calls. We all worked as a team. Regardless the nature or
severity of the call, John as always, was very focused, calm and professional. He was a great person to work with, equally as being a friend. His passing has affected all of us that knew John, he will be missed, but NEVER forgotten. Johns' life filled with passion and dedication to both family and community will never go unnoticed or forgotten. He is a man of honor. Another angel got his wings. My heart and prayers go out to Johns Family.. Bill Schmidt

We are shocked and saddened by the passing of John. We grew up with John, his brothers and mom and dad. We shared many good times together and will hold those special memories forever in our hearts. We want to send his family all of our love and can’t even imagine what you are all going through right now. John was the best and we all are better to have known him. He will be missed by us all. Never forgotten and always in our hearts. Love, Patty and the girls❤️

Have known "JB" since middle school in Stamford. What I remember most about him is his great sense of humor and that big bright smile. No matter how much time had passed between seeing each other it always felt like I just saw him the day before. You will be missed my friend.

We hadn’t seen each other in decades when I went to his 50th bday party. It was like we never lost touch at all. My closest friend as Seniors at Westhill 1987. I don’t believe we ever had an argument. He always relaxed me.
I always smiled when there was a Bennett Family Facebook post. Tight it is an understatement. I love you forever JB. ❤️

Some old ones from my 30th and Monroe firehouse parties.
I know we grew busy over the years and I moved a couple towns over, but after going years with seeing you and then randomly bumping into you it was like no time was lost. Thank you John for being an influential part of my life, mainly in my 20’s when I needed it the most. Always looked up to you. You will be missed. Love ya pal.
