Obituary of Catherine C. DeAngelis

In Loving Memory of Catherine Clark DeAngelis

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Catherine Clark DeAngelis, who left us on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on April 10, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA, Catherine was the beloved daughter of the late Pete and Catherine (McMonagle) Clark.

Catherine leaves behind her cherished daughter, Cathy Micinilio, and her husband Bill of Trumbull, along with her two grandchildren, Catherine (Gold Coast, Australia) and Nicholas Micinilio (Trumbull), who brought her immense joy. Her beloved dog, Sadie, also provided her with unwavering companionship and comfort.

A dedicated educator, Catherine made an indelible mark during her more than 25 years teaching Social Studies in the Council Rock Public Schools. Her passion for teaching and her unwavering commitment to her students influenced many lives, leaving a lasting legacy in her community.

Outside the classroom, Catherine had many passions. Her love for horseback riding began in college and grew into a lifelong pursuit, with her earning numerous ribbons in both ground and over fences competitions. She proudly won the Alumni National Championship over fences, an accomplishment that spoke to her dedication and expertise in the sport.

Upon her retirement, Catherine found joy in quilting, a hobby she had developed over the years. A proud member of the Connecticut Piecemakers Guild, she often created quilts for children in need. Her artistic talents also extended to her gardening, where she took great pride in cultivating a beautiful array of colorful flowers.

Above all, Catherine was devoted to her family. She was known as "Mom Mom" to her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Traveling the world with her close friend Marlene, Catherine experienced diverse cultures and formed bonds with people from all walks of life. Her love for adventure and exploration remained a key part of her life.

During her final months, Catherine was blessed to have a remarkable and loving aide, Nana, who stood by her side for 14 months, providing comfort, care, and companionship. The family is deeply grateful for her steadfast support and devotion during this time.

Words of Remembrance to celebrate Catherine's life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday morning from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
