Obituary of Fernando S. Queiroz

Fernando S. Queiroz, age 81, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Born on December 6, 1942 in Calvao, Chaves, Portugal, he was a son of the late Alberto Rito de Queiroz and Teresa De Jesus Sousa.

A former member of the Portuguese Navy, Fernando immigrated to the United States in 1968, settling in Bridgeport. Along with his brother, they were the former owners of the Portuguese Bakery in Bridgeport and also owners of Caesar's Liquor Store. He was a member of the Vasco da Gama Club, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and watching soccer.

He was a loving and devoted brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his devoted brother Jose S. Querioz and two sisters, Ana DaSilva and Zulmira Nascimento, Goddaughter, Ana Maria Nascimento, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gentil Queiroz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 465 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
