Obituary of Susan Thornton

Susan (Hanson) Thornton, age 67, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024 in the comfort of her home. Born in Bridgeport on June 1, 1957, she was a daughter of the late George A. Hanson and Crescentia (Chris) (Traub) Hanson. Susan had worked as a statement clerk in the banking industry early on in her career at the former State National Bank. Her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent with family. A loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving sister, Cynthia (Cindy) Swansiger and her husband, Michael J. Swansiger of Trumbull, her beloved niece Tara and her husband Todd, as well as aunts, several cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
