Obituary of Olga Covino

Olga DeCarli Covino, age 93, of Oak Bluffs, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Alfred C. Covino. She was born in Bridgeport on March 31, 1931. Olga was the daughter of the late Mario and Florence Jaconette DeCarli and was a long-time resident of Trumbull and Monroe before moving to Martha's Vineyard. She attended Bassick High School and graduated from the University of Bridgeport. She worked as a secretary, raised her children, and later became a realtor. Olga was an integral part of her grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed interacting with the children in her daughter's daycare and was adored by everyone she touched.

Family and friends meant everything to her; she was blessed with family and friends who had spanned many generations. Olga enjoyed playing games with her friends on Friday nights and sharing her favorite go-to places in her beloved Vineyard. She loved the simple things in life: watching sunsets at Menemsha Beach, the boats in Oak Bluffs harbor, and blueberry pancakes at the ArtCliff Diner. She'll be remembered for her gift of storytelling, and for those of you who have been lucky enough to have tasted her meatballs, her cooking.

Survivors include a son, William Covino, and his wife, Karen Overfield, a daughter, Patricia Covino, and her partner Peter Elman, and a cherished grandson, Nicholas Rudolph, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by brothers, E. Albert DeCarli and Ernie DeCarli, a sister, Marie Tuero, a grandson, Billy Rudolph, and an infant granddaughter, Christina.

A Funeral Service will occur on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd, Trumbull. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends and Family may greet the family on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or at www.cancer.org
