Obituary of Sam M. Quinto
Sam M. Quinto, age 89, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Lucy J. Ozzi Quinto, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport, on July 27, 1935, he was a son of the late Samuel and Eva Savino Quinto.
A U.S. Army veteran, Sam was a retired supervisor for Chevron Oil Co. with 25 years of dedicated service. He then began his own business as a carpenter building and fixing homes. Sam was also a Special Police Officer and Town Constable for the Town of Monroe.
Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, vacationing to Wildwood and Lake George and playing cards. In his later years he enjoyed watching western movies, going to car shows and most of all enjoying life with his great grandbabies. You could always find him in his workshop listening to Italian music and building things for his great grandbabies to enjoy. He was very meticulous with taking care of his cars and his homes and he was the go-to person when anything needed to be fixed. Although Sam enjoyed doing everything himself, he was also a great teacher of the craft.
Loved by all, he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend and Godfather to many especially his namesake Giovanni Sam. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving daughters, Diane Quinto of Monroe and Linda Gutmann and her husband William of Shelton, four cherished grandchildren, Maria Tartaglia and her husband Stephen of Monroe, Samantha and Allison Gutmann of Shelton, and Shannon Carr and her fiancé Jack of Oxford, four great grandchildren Alexander and Jaiden and the "lights of his life" Gabriella and Giovanni. He was predeceased by his brother, Dominick Quinto and his sister, Carmella Odice.
