Obituary of Donald F. Flynn

Resident of Trumbull Donald Francis Flynn, age 77, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Camille Lombardi Flynn, died peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at St. Vincents Medical Center with his family at his side. Born on November 18, 1931, he was the son of the late James and Bridget Galvin Flynn. A proud and decorated Veteran serving with the United States Marine Corp; 3rd Battalion; 1st Marines during the Korean Conflict, he was one of the few survivors of the Chosin Reservoir Campaign and was a member of The Chosin Few, an organization serving the survivors of that conflict. A 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus, Donald was the Founding Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #13063 at St. Stephens Church, Trumbull. Mr. Flynn was the retired owner and operator of Seaboard Financial Services. He was also a licensed realtor and a member of the Fairfield Board of Realtors. Donald was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His wife; his children, Richard of Trumbull and Taryn Flynn-Cholakian and her husband Gary of Fairfield; and his cherished and adored granddaughter Emily Cholakian; and a brother-in-law Richard Lombardi of White Plains, NY survive him. Two nieces and a nephew also survive him. Two brothers, James and Edward Flynn, predeceased him. Funeral Information Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
