Obituary of Frank E. Sessa Sr.

Frank E. Sessa, Sr., age 90, of Torrington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Kanel) Sessa for 63 years. Born in Stamford, CT, on July 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Angelo and Mary (Gallo) Sessa.

Frank joined the United States Navy and proudly served on the USS Bannock. He loved to share stories about his Navy experiences, recounting with enthusiasm the adventures and camaraderie he encountered during his service.

A loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Frank was known for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to others. He was a hard worker who dedicated himself to supporting his family. Frank had a deep passion for motorcycles and photography, and he and Jeanette enjoyed many adventures together. He also had a fondness for flying model airplanes, taking great pride in building the planes he flew. Frank was known for his ability to fix just about anything, a skill he used to assist those around him with various repairs and projects.

In addition to his beloved wife Jeanette, survivors include his loving son, Frank Sessa, Jr. and his wife Dawn; a sister, Lorraine Green; three grandsons, Frank Sessa III, Michael Sessa and his wife Marley, and William Sessa and his wife Anna; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin, and Alexandra. Frank also leaves two step-grandchildren, Timothy Coe and his wife Victoria, and Molly Schultz and her husband Edward; and four step-great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Juliet, Charlotte, and Avery, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Naugatuck Waterbury DAV Chapter 11, PO Box 511, Naugatuck, CT 06770. The DAV supports disabled veterans in the local area.
