Obituary of Bonnie C. Douglas

Bonnie Jean (Campbell) Douglas, age 82, of Trumbull, cherished wife of 61 years to Fred R. Douglas, Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Mozaic Senior Life. Born in Bridgeport on July 27, 1942, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Chalmers and Agnes (Sublowsky) Campbell of Fairfield.

Bonnie was a wonderful wife and devoted mother, and she served as an Executive Administrative Assistant to the Provost at Sacred Heart University for many years before her retirement.

Full of love, laughter, and resilience, Bonnie touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a patient, loving, caretaker who took great pride in her family. She was someone who always put others above herself. Bonnie found great happiness in sharing her laughter, her creativity, and her kindness with everyone. She had an appreciation for art, music, and dance, and especially enjoyed volunteering her time as a performer with the "Smile Awhile" group of the Trumbull Senior Center.

In addition to her beloved husband Fred, survivors include her two loving daughters, Lisa Douglas and Christine Karolus (and her husband Jonathan), a dear brother, Bruce Campbell, four treasured grandchildren, Kaila Manner, Ashton Danz-Manner, Ava Karolus and Lily Karolus and a brother in-law Richard Douglas (Wife Patricia). She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Dianna Douglas.

The family would like to thank Fatouma Ameganvi, as well as the staff of Middlebrook Farms at Trumbull, Mozaic Senior Life, and Mozaic Hospice for their exceptional care, love, and support.

Bonnie leaves a legacy of strength, of faith, and family traditions and she will be deeply missed.

Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, August,14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. A Memorial Service will take place at 12:30 p.m., and Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
