Obituary of Amelio I. Coletti

Amelio Irno Coletti, age 93, passed away on August 1, 2024 in his home at Middlebrook Farms in Trumbull, CT. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lorraine Olsson Coletti and predeceased by his first wife, Elaine Isola Coletti. Amelio and Lorraine brought together two families, a blended family, of whom Amelio was very proud. They include his son Jeffrey Coletti and his wife Nancy of Asbury, NJ; his daughter Lynda Roca and her husband Louis of Shelton, CT; his stepchildren Lisa Olsson Swanson and her husband Glenn of Wallingford, CT; Eric Olsson of Amherst MA; Jenny-Lynn Georgiades and her husband George of Huntington Station, NY, and Anthony Olsson pre-deceased. Mel also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Amelio's greatest enjoyment was found in the time he spent with his eight cherished grandchildren: Victoria and Garrett Coletti; Rachel and Emma Roca; Jessica and Tyler Swanson(Alexa); Addison Olsson; and Alexondra Georgiades.

Born in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Enrico and Maria Adua Coletti and was pre-deceased by his brother Mario and his sister Nelsa Magnan. As a young man, Amelio had a passion for baseball, but he had to give up his dream to help his mother support the family. Amelio then enlisted in the army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a big fan of music and frequented jazz clubs, rubbing shoulders with many of the jazz greats. While raising a family, he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Baruch College. He retired from his role as Facilities Director for the Retail Branches of Chase Manhattan Bank in the early 1990's.

Before moving to Trumbull, he resided in Rye Brook, NY, Shelton, CT and Delray Beach, FL.

Please join his family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:00 am - 1 pm with a prayer service starting at 12:30 pm followed by Military Honors at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
