Obituary of Charles P. Szlama
Charles P. Szlama, age 75, beloved husband of Magdalen (Takacs) Szlama of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Hungary on August 11, 1948, he was a son of the late Karoly and Anna (Kuzsel) Szlama and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.
Charles was an electrical contractor by trade and he opened his business, Alpha Electric, Inc. in 1977. He worked alongside both his sons for many years and passed the business to his son, Richard, in 2021. He worked very hard to provide a great life for his family and cherished all the relationships he developed with the many customers he met over the years. He held a pilot's license and loved flying, along with all things related to aviation. He also enjoyed target shooting, traveling around the country with his family, visiting national parks, and meeting with his friends for lunch on Saturdays. He was a loving husband, father, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Magdalen of 49 years, survivors include his two devoted sons, Charles P. Szlama, III of Trumbull and Richard Szlama and his wife Amy Morocco of Watertown as well as a sister, Ida Sipos and her husband Gyorg of Hungary.
