Obituary of Bartholomew A. Petriello

Bartholomew A. (Bart) Petriello, age 86, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024 in the comfort of his home, with his niece & caregiver Allison by his side.

Born in Bridgeport on May 17, 1938, he was a son of the late Bartolomeo and Antonetta Infante Petriello. A U.S. Army veteran, Bart was a graduate of Warren Harding High School's Class of 1956. He went on to graduate from Bullard-Havens Barber College and worked with his father and brother Sal at Petriello's Barber Shop on Barnum Avenue in Stratford. In 1986 Bart become the sole proprietor of the shop. He worked in the barbering industry for a total of 67 years.

In addition to his niece Allison Brown, survivors include his brother, Ralph Petriello and his wife Sheila of Arizona, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Bart was predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, his sister Concetta (Teena) Brown and her husband James, brothers Salvatore Petriello and his wife Regina (Rita), Anthony Petriello and his wife Gloria. The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregiver Abigail Bonsu, for her care and compassion given to Bart in his time of need.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
