Obituary of Elizabeth Marie Crainich
Elizabeth Marie (Ray) Crainich, age 80, of Stratford, formerly of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Crainich. Born in Rugen, Germany on December 13, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Maria (Balazic) Ray. Mrs. Crainich had worked as a hair dresser for many years before eventually becoming the owner of Village Square Hair Designs, formerly of Monroe. She built many friendships over her 25 plus years of service in that capacity. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and if you were one to receive one of her designs, then you knew you were someone special. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, dancing polka with her husband and entertaining in her home. She treasured most the time she spent with family. She was a woman of great faith and had a devotion to her ministry as a member of the Trumbull Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored above all else. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her devoted children, James Crainich and his wife Tammie, Matthew Crainich and his wife Karen, Stefania Mingey and her husband John Koschel, Michael Crainich and his wife Michelle and Jason Crainich and his wife Krystle Rizkalla, her adored grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Jackson, Aidan and Kaylie, her loving sisters, Annmarie Crainich, Christel Eles and Fran Ray, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, June 29th, 2024 at 10am at the Jehovah’s Witnesses Stratford Congregation, 3016 Main St, Stratford, CT 06614. Friends may greet the family after services on Saturday, June 29th, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
