Obituary of Eleftheria "Freda" Mitsos

Eleftheria "Freda" Mitsos, age 76, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Dimitrios Mitsos. Born in Samos, Greece on February 25, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Dimitrios and Maria (Karageorge) Christofis. Freda and her husband brought their family to the United States from Greece in 1972 and eventually settled in Fairfield. She and Dimitrios where the owners and operators of Arrow Cleaners in Fairfield for over 21 years until their retirement. The two of them were inseparable, they enjoyed traveling together to Greece in the summer and their annual trip to Aruba for many years. Above everything her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends, especially the time spent with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband Dimitrios of 58 years, survivors include two loving children, John Mitsos and Vicky Hallstrom and her husband Eric, a sister, Christy Karthan (Jim), two brothers, George Christofis (Toni) and Costa Christofis (Anna) and five cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Cassandra & Christina Mitsos and Eric & Mason Hallstrom as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. directly in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. in the church with the Rev.
