Obituary of Peter H. Kiman

Peter H. Kiman, age 57, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Nancy (Burns) Kiman. Born in Bridgeport on October 17, 1966 he was a son of Sally (Hatfield) Kiman and the late Peter P. Kiman and was a lifelong resident of Shelton.

Peter enjoyed coaching his three children and others in youth football, softball, and hockey. He coached Shelton Flag Football and American Youth Football. In addition, he coached softball at many levels including Double-A, Triple-A, Majors, and All-Stars. He served as an assistant coach for fall softball at Shelton High School. He helped renovate Mingrone Field with other volunteers. He coached training sessions for Connecticut RiverHawks Youth Hockey as well, where his passion for fitness and health were on full display. Peter enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and New York Giants. He spent summer days at the beach and fall weekends hosting Men's Weekend in Misquamicut, RI, his home away from home. Family and friends often gathered at the beach house to celebrate special occasions. Peter always welcomed everyone.

Peter most recently worked as a sales manager in IT for Cisco. He was always willing to help a colleague at work or family and friends with projects around their homes. All you had to do was ask. Peter demanded the best from himself as well as anyone who knew him. He never accepted anything less than 100 percent effort. His determination and drive were evident in all that he did every day.

In addition to his mother and his loving wife Sandy of 25 years, survivors include his three cherished children, Amanda, Rachel and Jake Kiman, a brother Steve Kiman and a sister, Stacey Breyan and her husband Christopher as well as six beloved nieces and nephews, Emma Breyan, Lindsey Breyan, Payton Kiman, Lauren Breyan, Trevor Kiman and Ryder Kiman as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton, Ave., Shelton. Interment will be private. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, May 31 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
