Obituary of Gloria Da Cruz Morais

Gloria Da Cruz Morais, age 90, of Southbury and formerly of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Joao Morais, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in Soutelo, Chaves, Portugal on December 11, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Arcino Da Cruz and Maria Rodrigues Sampaio. Gloria came to the United States in 1969 with her family, settling in Bridgeport. She was a retired employee of Bridgeport Fittings with over 25 years of dedicated service. A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, her faith was very important. Gloria was a very hard-working woman and was dedicated to the love and care of her family. She always put their needs before her own. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in their hearts. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her loving son, Jose Morais and his wife Cindy of Southbury, two cherished and adored grandchildren, Briana Cahill and her husband Ryan and Joseph Morais, a brother Jose Da Cruz, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Joao, she was predeceased by her brother Antonio Da Cruz and her sisters, Senhorinha Alves, Teresa Teixeira, Zelinda Gomes and Odette Pires. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
