Obituary of Anthony J. Mandolfo, Sr.

Anthony J. “Tony” Mandolfo, Sr., age 81, of Ansonia passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital surround by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis A. (Giardini) Mandolfo. Born in Bridgeport on January 26, 1943 he was a son of the late Angelo and Palma (Paradiso) Mandolfo. Mr. Mandolfo was a man of many talents and had worked as a machinist at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years before his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and also looked forward to frequent trips to the casino with family and friends alike. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his devoted son, Anthony J. Mandolfo, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Shelton, his cherished granddaughter, Alyssa Mandolfo of Shelton, his brother, Joseph Mandolfo and his wife Chris of Melbourne, FL, his sister-in-law, Marie Rapillo of Ansonia, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Phyllis, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Concetta Crudo, Emily Schiappa and Rose Tombolato and his brothers, Dominick and Benjamin Mandolfo and William Denilt

Graveside funeral services in celebration of Anthony’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in the St. Monica Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans of CT (DAV), 35 Cold Spring Rd., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
